Joe Elder, President
Joe Elder is a Professor of Sociology and of Languages and Cultures of Asia in the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 1969 Joe traveled to Hanoi twice on behalf of the American Friends (Quakers) Service Committee to deliver medical supplies to civilians in North Vietnam. On one of those trips he visited the AFSC hospital and prosthetic center in Quang Ngai. In the 1990s Joe helped found Madison Quakers, Inc., and since 2000 he has visited Quang Ngai several times.
Jim Huberty, Treasurer
Jim Huberty has earned both BA and MS degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is currently working in Office Management and Accounting in Middleton, and enjoys tutoring middle and high school students. Jim is also an advocate for NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness).
